The Galaxy M31s features a large 6.5-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O panel – a first for the noted Galaxy M series.
The Samsung Galaxy M series has just cemented its status as one of the lineups to beat in the bang-for-your-buck category with the release of the Galaxy M31s.
Following the footsteps of the vanilla Galaxy M31, the Galaxy M31s brings a set of key upgrades to the table, ones that are sure to catapult the series to further limelight.
Galaxy M31s now comes with Super AMOLED Infinity-O display
For instance, the Galaxy M31s now features a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O screen. On paper, this is first for a smartphone in the Galaxy M series. Meanwhile, the phone packs a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Around the device’s back, the smartphone is noted for employing a gradient design with black and blue shades. The pattern is only interrupted by the otherwise modern-looking rectangular module.
A key camera feature is also in the mix
The module houses the Galaxy M31s’ quadruple-camera setup that is headlined by a 64MP Sony IMX682 wide camera. The primary lens is then coupled with a 12MP ultrawide sensor and two 5MP macro and depth cameras. Inside the phone’s display cutout is a 32MP selfie shooter, the same sensor found in the regular Galaxy M31.
Samsung is also praised for bringing over its Single Take mode in the phone’s camera setup. The feature allows users to capture 10 photos and videos with just a single press of the shutter button.
Under the proverbial hood, the phone is powered by Samsung’s homegrown Exynos 9611 chipset. The device is also coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and an expandable 128GB of internal storage.
The handset is also listed with an enormous 6,000mAh battery, which receives complementing support for 25W fast wired charging. Alternatively, it can power other gadgets, thanks to its support for reverse charging.
In the software department, the Galaxy M31s runs on the latest One UI 2.0, based on Android 10. The phone also boasts Bluetooth 5.0, FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. It also has a mounted fingerprint reader on its side, which doubles as the power button. The phone could have been a runaway winner had Samsung opted for an in-display fingerprint scanner instead.
The Samsung Galaxy M31s is priced at INR 20,499 for its 6GB/128GB trim, while the 8GB/128GB version retails for INR 22,499.
The Galaxy M31s is scheduled to go on sale on August 6.
