A recent leak reveals an interesting upgrade for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. According to the leak, the smartphone will have an upgraded camera.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is what many call a phablet. A phablet sits in between the smartphone and a tablet in terms of size and dimensions. Samsung’s upcoming flagship device is also packed with high-end hardware, as well as new features.
New leaks about the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
The recent leak comes from a reliable source, Ice Universe, who has a reputation for accurately leaking major devices. According to the leak, Samsung is ditching the original plan of 100x zoom for the Note 20 Ultra. Instead, the South Korean tech giant is dialing it down to just 50x zoom.
Note20 Ultra will cancel 100X, the maximum is 50X, Samsung will strive to optimize the zoom experience of the maximum 50X, more focus on the experience.

While this might sound like a downgrade, Samsung is probably doing it for practical reasons. The company says that it is focusing its development on user experience. It appears that having a 100x zoom might hamper user experience, at least according to Samsung.
Another reason for the downgrade might be due to practicality. A powerful 100x zoom lens will cost more to integrate into the phone. Instead of this, Samsung can just cut it down to 50x and allocate the resources to more important specs.
Another leak from Ice Universe shows how large the camera sensors are of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. While the leak did not show the actual phone, he shared what appears to be cases for the flagship phones.
From the looks of it, the upcoming Samsung flagship will feature quite a large camera sensor. Perhaps the largest among all current flagship smartphones. This recent leak supports the case of an earlier one that claims the phone will have a periscope lens.
Additional specs and release date
Both the standard Galaxy Note 20 and the Ultra variant will have 120Hz display capabilities. Both are also 5G compatible and will use either a Snapdragon 856 or an Exynos 990 chipset. The choice of chipset depends on which country the smartphone will arrive.
Additional specs include an 8GB RAM for the standard model, while the Ultra model will have 12GB of memory. Both phones are expected to support storage of up to 120GB.
Rumors claim that the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, along with other variants, will officially debut on August 5. Samsung is also expected to debut the new Galaxy Note 20 together with the Galaxy Fold 2 foldable smartphone.
