The Galaxy Z Fold 2 may be launched with an estimated price of USD 1,980 in international markets.
A new report by DDaily via SamMobile has revealed that the impending Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 will debut with the same price tag its predecessor launched with.
Still as expensive as ever
The second-generation Galaxy Fold will, reportedly, retail for KRW 2,398,000. The accompanying price is notoriously similar to the price tag the Galaxy Fold debuted within 2019. As is stands, the upcoming foldable could very well launch with the price tag of USD 1,980 in international markets.
The report from the same source also indicated that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is slated to go on sale on September 18 in the Korean market. This corroborates a previous report revealed that the chaebol would ship the device in the said month, with the Galaxy S20 FE following suit.
Galaxy Z Fold 2: Thom Browne limited edition is in the works
The latest speculation to emerge surrounding the key features and specs of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is the suggestion that the foldable will arrive with a Thom Browne limited edition. The latter is a renowned American fashion house.
According to noted leaker Ice Universe, the limited edition might cost over CNY 20,000. Though pricey at best, it is tipped that the special variant will also come with a Galaxy Watch 3 Titanium Edition, alongside a pair of Galaxy Buds Live.
A solid foldable through and through
The foldable smartphone is pegged to feature a 7.7-inch Foldable Dynamic AMOLED screen, with a resolution of 1,536 x 2,152 pixels. Its display could also sport HDR10+ and a high 120Hz refresh rate.
The foldable’s cover display might also sport a 6.23-inch Super AMOLED with a 1080p resolution.
Snapdragon 865+ chip with rear triple-camera setup
The phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 865+ chipset, with 12GB of RAM and a non-expandable 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device could also tote around a 4,356mAh battery capacity, with support for 15W fast wired and 15W fast wireless charging.
The smartphone is also slated to pack triple sensors on its rear. These could be headlined by a large 64MP wide lens, and accompanied by 12MP telephoto and 16MP ultrawide sensors. The phone is also tipped to feature a front-facing snapper housed in a display cutout.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is scheduled to be announced at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5.
