Genshin Impact has become one of the biggest mobile games in the history of gaming. But, the real question is, can it survive the wave?
Genshin Impact is making quite an impact. The game is ardently loved by fans worldwide, with 17 million android downloads in the first four days of launch. The game grossed $100 million within two weeks of its launch and recovered its development costs. Now, fans and experts are turning towards an important question regarding the game’s survival.
Genshin Impact: Riding on the success
Genshin Impact is one of the biggest game launches ever and the biggest for a Chinese developer. MiHoYo developed the game as a role-playing open-World game, with changeable characters.
The game revolves around the protagonist, the traveler, who wanders to find his other twin in the world of Teyvat.
Teyvat consists of seven nations with distinct capabilities to control seven elements. They include cryo, dendro, pyro, anemo, hydro, geo, and electro.
It is an online game and has a four-player multiplayer mode. This game has included Gacha style microtransactions to purchase playable characters, artifacts, and weapons.
Genshin Impact is a surprise hit in 2020, as the game has become the second biggest mobile game of all time. This success is maybe due to the widespread downloads by Chinese players.
The essence of survival
Genshin Impact is trying to keep it at the top, with new methods to achieve it. The publisher has understood that to survive and succeed, it is always necessary to rectify the errors and to release updates.
MiHoYo has released an update called 1.1 to the game to solve character abilities not working properly, error in translation, and so on. The publisher released a trailer for the update and concluded Liyue’s story arc that started in the game’s launch.
Genshin Impact has patched its system regularly in the past to keep up with the wave. It has also gifted the players primo gems and Mora items as a token of gratitude. They are also paying attention to the player’s concerns and working to solve them.
The company seems to have a strategy to survive the momentum. As long as the game updates itself regularly, it has a chance to establish itself as a benchmark in online open-world RPG soon.
The game is available to play on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Android, and iOS. The game should make itself relevant in the market, or else the slated release for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 can prove to be a failure.
