It’s only been over a week since MiHoYo released Genshin Impact and the game is already making waves. In fact, the role-playing game has already made over $60 million in its first week. Right now, it stands as the number two (2) mobile game just behind Honor of Kings.
If you’re just starting your journey in the magical world of Teyvat, you’re probably wondering how you can unlock more characters. So here is a simple guide to help you start out your journey.
Unlocking characters are actually a no-brainer in Genshin Impact. When you start the game and arrive at Mondstadt City, you will be able to unlock the Wishes feature.
Wishes are what allows players to obtain new characters. The grandmaster of the Knights of Favonius, Jean, issues out a mission that also allows players to access the Wishes feature.
Players start out with 10 free Wishes so they are able to change their characters, weapons, and stats if they feel like they made a mistake. Unfortunately, once those Wishes run out, players would have to get more Wishes to unlock characters. And this is where things get complicated.
Primogems are the in-game currency of Genshin Impact. Players are rewarded with Primogems after they complete missions.
In order to unlock new characters, players would first need to purchase Genesis Crystals using real-world money. Afterward, players need to convert these crystals into Primogems.
Once converted, the Primogems would then be used to buy Fates, which are needed to obtain more Wishes. Players can either get Acquaint or Intertwined Fates. Here is a step-by-step guide:
Again, buying Wishes requires Fates. In the Beginner’s Wish area, the first 10 Wishes are given for free. Afterward, 10 Wishes will cost around 8 Acquaint Fates which in turn costs 1,280 Primogems.
For the rest of the areas, a single Wish costs one Intertwined Fate. This costs around 160 Primogems in Genshin Impact.
