Genshin Impact of miHoYo is one of the most anticipated titles of September, and it’s now available. This free-to-play game is something worth the player’s time regardless of what console they are playing on.
After the long wait, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild-inspired Genshin Impact is now out. This free-to-play title is one of the best in recent years, and it’s actually surprising that miHoYo is releasing on a free structure. Here’s everything we know about this game.
Platform
The game is currently available on the PlayStation 4, PC, as well as Android and iOS devices. A Switch version is in the works, but no release date has been given yet. As per the developers, it’s going to launch later this year, so players might not have to wait too long.
Since there are cross-play and cross-save functionality, players can enjoy the game on any platform they own. Once the Switch version arrives, they can easily transfer their saved file there.
Gameplay
At first glance, the game resembles The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Upon starting the game, players will see just how vast the world is. To explore the world, players will need to interact with certain statues to reveal a region’s map, similar to Breath of the Wild.
In Genshin Impact, exploration may be done in all sorts of forms. These include walking, climbing, swimming, and gliding through the air.
The most important part of the game is the collection of special characters. There are over 20 characters to collect in the game. Players can place up-to-four in their party at any given time. Each of the characters has their own backstory and a special set of abilities.
Players will need to create a good team composition so that they are able to win more battles. Each of the characters will represent a certain element. Using this element system, players can create better synergies within their party.
In terms of combat, each character is given a basic and special attack. Combat is action-based and more direct. Like Breath of the Wild, combat will be fast and intense.
Genshin Impact is currently available for the PlayStation 4, PC, and iOS and Android devices. When the Switch version comes, it’s yet to be confirmed how cross-progression will work on it. It might be limited to other platforms still by that time.
