George Clooney allegedly didn’t behave like married man before Amal

George Clooney and Amal Clooney are a picture of a perfect couple, but before meeting the humanitarian lawyer, he was married to an actress.

George Clooney is happily married to Amal Clooney, and they share twins Ella and Alexander. His first marriage with Talia Balsam didn’t work, and The provided the reasons behind their divorce.

George Clooney was living the single life

George Clooney and Talia Balsam tied the knot on Dec. 15, 1989. However, according to the outlet, he was living a single life at the time and didn’t behave like a married man.

While Talia was a stay-at-home wife, George remained the life and soul of any party. Many were surprised when they learned that he was married.

Talia was above George in terms of connections

George Clooney wasn’t a big name when they were still together. The outlet described the Money Monster star as someone “struggling to move on from the D-list.” Although George’s dad was an anchorman and journalist, they were no matched to Talia’s connections.

Talia’s parents Joyce Van Patten and Martin Balsam were well-respected actors. Their family is very well-off, and it only made a huge gap between the then-couple.

George and Talia after their divorce

Talia Balsam and George Clooney remain friends even after their divorce. She still considered George as “charming” years after they parted ways.

“Absolutely, George is charming. He remains charming. I’ve worked with him,” Talia told People.

Meanwhile, George admitted his regrets over his first marriage. He realized that he wasn’t ready for commitment at the time.

“I probably – definitely – wasn’t someone who should have been married at the point,” George said.

“I just don’t feel like I gave Talia a fair shot.”

George and Amal Clooney’s romance

Initially, George Clooney never thought that he would get married again. He thought marriage wasn’t for him until he met the human rights lawyer.

An agent introduced them to each other, who predicted that George would be marrying his mutual friend.

“No, it’s the wildest thing. A mutual friend of ours said, ‘I’m stopping by and can I bring my friend?'” George told David Letterman.

“And I was like, ‘Of course.’ I got a call from my agent who called me and said, ‘I met this woman who’s coming to your house who you’re gonna marry,'” he added.

George and Amal hit it off immediately. The pair tied the knot in September 2014.

However, George and Amal’s marriage has been a constant target of divorce rumors. Several outlets claimed that they couldn’t stand each other. On the contrary, George said they were the perfect partner and the right team.
