George Clooney sat down with David Letterman for the My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. During their conversation, he detailed how he met Amal Alamuddin and how his agent predicted their marriage even before they met.
“No, it’s the wildest thing. A mutual friend of ours said, ‘I’m stopping by and can I bring my friend?’” Georg told Letterman.
“And I was like, ‘Of course.’ I got a call from my agent who called me and said, ‘I met this woman who’s coming to your house who you’re gonna marry,’” he added.
George Clooney also recalled his first meeting with Amal Alamuddin. The humanitarian lawyer dropped by at his home in Lake Como and his parents were around at the time. So, the foursome bonded.
“And the funniest thing was my mom and dad were visiting, so my parents were there, and we just talked and we stayed up all night talking,” George revealed.
George and Amal swapped email addresses so Amal could send the photos she had taken that night. The Ocean’s Eleven star and Amal started writing, but he had no idea that she wanted to go out with him because he thought they were just buddies.
During the episode, George also introduced Letterman to the Iraqui refugee that he and Amal helped get settled in the States.
George Clooney shared how he popped the big question to Amal Alamuddin. The proposal happened in 2016 when they were having dinner at their home.
“She reached out, she pulled out the box, and I’ve got just the ring sitting in there. And, she pulls it out and she looks at it, and she’s like ‘it’s a ring,’” George said.
“I got down on my knee and said ‘I couldn’t imagine spending the rest of my life without you.’”
George and Amal Alamuddin have been married for over five years already. However, the couple has been plagued with divorce rumors constantly.
Apparently, all of those claims were not true. George and Amal are still together and happy with each other and their twins.
