Ubisoft finally came through with its promise and has offered Assasin’s Creed 2 for free. Make sure to head over to their free event website immediately and claim this limited giveaway before Friday.
Last March 31, Ubisoft issued a press release in line with the company’s campaign event called “Play Your Part, Play At Home.” This is one of the video game maker’s plans to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
With this event, the French video game company is encouraging the public to stay at home by giving out their premium game titles either for free or for a prolonged free trial period.
They’ve started the charitable giveaway event with their well-received Rayman Legends title. The fifth Rayman installment was offered for free but for a limited time only, as Micky News previously reported.
Ubisoft kept its promise
Ubisoft also teased that they may be releasing a few of their popular franchises, including the Assassin’s Creed series.
It has been more than two weeks since the announcement, and Rayman Legends was only available for a free claim until April 3. Since then, no new title was added until recently.

Indeed enough, Ubisoft kept its word and finally released a title from the Assasin’s Creed franchise. Assasin’s Creed 2 is now available for free download on their free event website.
The 2009 action-adventure video game has been available since April 14 and will only be accessible for free download until April 17, 9 PM (local time).
For first-time Uplay users, a Ubisoft or Uplay account is required, so make sure to make one beforehand.

The next free premium title
Meanwhile, there’s still no certainty when Ubisoft will drop its next free game title.
Following its press release, the company did mention another premium game franchise – Just Dance.
However, Ubisoft already offered Just Dance 2020 for free but only for a month starting April 8. The announcement came in a separate press release, and the month-long freebie isn’t listed on its free event website.
This is probably why others might have missed it.

Nevertheless, they’ve mentioned that the Just Dance offer is part of their campaign to bring comfort and entertainment amid the pandemic.
We can’t say for a certain that this was the next premium title giveaway, as Just Dance Unlimited is actually only free to use for a month. Technically, it’s more of a time-limited offer.
There still might be a chance that there will be a third game title up for grabs in the weeks to come.
Make sure to stay tuned to find out the next premium title up for grabs.
