Getting shiny Pokemon is highly likely in ‘The Crown Tundra’s Dynamax Adventure

Share

Players who are seeking the fastest method to get shiny Pokemon will find it best when playing in Pokemon Sword and Shield’s second and final DLC, The Crown Tundra, via the Dynamax Adventure.

Veterans of the franchise know the struggle that comes with trying to get a shiny Pokemon. For the feature that is heavily reliant on chances, not many get to experience catching a unique-looking Pokemon by just luck. Mainly, the process requires either doing countless soft resets, if not defeating a particular Pokemon in long chains.

There are alternative methods of acquiring a shiny Pokemon aside from the aforementioned, usually in the form of a wearable item or by breeding Pokemon. While convenient, any of these means is not necessarily very effective in raising the goal’s probability.

Valuable Shinies

The conundrum with getting a glittering Pokemon is such shinies are generally prized possessions in the community. One that significantly outvalues a regular counterpart, despite being severely under-leveled in comparison. It’s the difficulty in their getting that ultimately gives value to glossy Pokemon, even if a common encounter in the wild.

However, this enduring plight towards capturing shinies is easing by a lot as Game Freak introduces the Dynamax Adventure in The Crown Tundra DLC.

Players who had prior experience with Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon would easily relate to Dynamax Adventure, albeit with a unique twist. Instead of traversing space via the ultra wormhole, the Dynamax Adventure is all about going through a den. It is an area that is replete with both common and legendary Pokemon and with a likely high chance of being shiny.

Datamine information

Twitter user, SciresM, dug into Pokemon Sword and Shield’s The Crown Tundra DLC and came across an interesting find. It seems that the chance of encountering a glowing Pokemon is highly probable considering the 1/300 rate. That is just speaking of going through the den by default. The chances of it significantly get higher with a Shiny Charm in equipment at a 1/100 rate.

The notion of potentially seeing a lustrous Pokemon once per every 100 Pokemon encountered may not seem much. But considering that the possibility of encountering a similar Pokemon elsewhere is far higher in number, that’s indeed relatively easier to do.

As interesting as the idea sounds, getting the Shiny Charm is a unique undertaking on its own altogether. To get it, players must literally complete Galar’s Pokedex, making it a grand prize for the feat.
