Ghost of Tsushima of Sucker Punch Production is only a week away from releasing, and gamers are undoubtedly excited. Aside from the sleek combat, players are also thrilled about one more thing in the upcoming samurai epic.
Ghost of Tsushima tells the story of Jin Sakai as he tries to impede the Mongol invasion. The game takes place on the Isle of Tsushima, which is a realistic depiction of the real-life location. Just recently, the developers gave us a glimpse of the game’s beautiful world.
The Isle of Tsushima teased
Sucker Punch Productions recently detailed how they created the world in the upcoming game. It came with a short teaser of what players can expect to see when they get their hands on the game next week.
We've created a rich, beautiful world in #GhostOfTsushima that's constantly in motion. Learn more about how we built it on the @PlayStation Blog: https://t.co/LTsaOiIrbT pic.twitter.com/AZRx4pdI4z

The developers shared that for them to be able to recreate a faithful version of the island, they have to visit the actual place, which was also nearby the Korean peninsula.
“We visited Tsushima multiple times during the project, a beautiful place crowded with mountains and dense forests. Green covers what seems like every inch of the island, a rolling tree line from the top of the mountains all the way down to the ocean.”
The developers add that their version of the island isn’t a complete replica, but they instead decided to honor the island’s best parts in Ghost of Tsushima. The developer adds that the game’s map will consist of three different regions each, with its own biomes, points of interest, and more.
Diverse and alive
When it comes to the principles they took in making the world, Sucker Punch Productions says that the world is filled with natural and man-made wonders. These elements perfectly blend to recreate a world that feels alive more than ever. Since this is the developer’s biggest game to date, it wanted to create an immersive experience.
Players will get to explore diverse areas in the game. This will make exploration feel like every bit rewarding as it should be. Players will get to enjoy exploring the world as much as they do fighting the enemies with the game’s combat mechanics.
Ghost of Tsushima launches on July 17 for the PlayStation 4. It’s one of the biggest releases of this month, and players are excited to get their hands on this new IP from Sony. The game is expected to live up to expectations.
