As per Sucker Punch, Ghost of Tsushima Legends launches for the PlayStation 4 next month. At the front and center of this multiplayer mode for Ghost of Tsushima are the Legends told by the people of Tsushima.
Ghost of Tsushima Legends puts the spotlight on Japanese mythology and lore. Jin Sakai won’t be the star this time around. In a recent blog post, the developers detailed the stars of the multiplayer mode and how their playstyles will vary from one another.
The four legends
The four playable class in the co-op mode are Hunter, Samurai, Assassin, and Ronin. Each of the class relates to a corresponding gameplay style. The developers detailed how each class works. Players should consider these before they choose which character to play as.
The Samurai class is straightforward and is more about taking on the enemies head-on. Players can revitalize their health via the Samurai’s resolve. Their ultimate ability is called Hachiman’s Furry, which sees them attacking groups of enemies in quick succession.
The Hunter will be a ranged class that can also use explosive arrows. Their ultimate ability is the Eye of Uchitsune, which unleashes a flurry of headshots towards enemies.
The Ronin class acts as a support class in the game. Its ultimate ability is called Breath of Izanami, which instantly revives downed allies. The Ronin can also summon a spirit dog to help in battle.
As expected, the Assassin class is all about working from the shadows. Their ultimate ability is called Shadow Strike, which allows them to instantly get to the middle of the battlefield and kill opponents.
Ghost of Tsushima Legends features a story mode that’s separate from the base campaign. Instead of sticking to realism, the new multiplayer mode will be more about Japanese lore and myth. The enemies aren’t the standard Mongols as players will be fighting the Oni this time around.
The game mode will also feature a Survival Mode and a difficult mode called Raid Mode. This sees players working hard to complete a three-part adventure. Of course, the rewards are generally better here, hence the challenge.
Ghost of Tsushima Legends is the first major update for Sucker Punch’s samurai epic. The game will highlight some new characters in the game. Hopefully, the game does justice to Ghost of Tsushima, and fans are certainly excited to get their hands on it already.
