Sucker Punch has now announced Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. The free update will be a coop mode for the title and will come out on October 16 for the PS4.
The new Ghost of Tsushima: Legends came from a recent announcement on the Playstation Blog. The version 1.1 Legends Update will bring a ton of add-ons to the game. These will include bug fixes, improvements to the single-player, and a New Game+.
Legends will add two and four-player missions and Raids
The release of Legends came with a reveal last August, and it’s a fresh experience for players. It will be a new, online coop mode that will feature two-player and four-player missions. A new “Raid” system will also come weeks after its launch.
The Raid missions will be quite a treat for friends who would like to enjoy going to parties. It will work similarly to an MMORPG raid, which would need different skill sets.
“Ghost of Tsushima’s single-player campaign focuses on an open world and exploring the natural beauty of the island, but Legends is haunting and fantastical, with locations and enemies inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology and an emphasis on cooperative combat and action,” said Darren Bridges in August.
“We designed Legends to be an exclusively cooperative gameplay experience. You’ll be able to partner up with friends or via online matchmaking and play Legends in groups of 2-4 players. Each player can choose from one of four different character classes: the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, or Assassin. Each class has unique advantages and abilities that we’ll reveal in the future.”
Tsushima 1.1 update adds New Game+ and new content
More details of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends are out, and it’s going to be fantastic. It will be exclusively coop, which players can enjoy with friends or online matchmaking. The experience for two players is different from having four players in tow.
The two-player experience is a series of coop Story missions that will build on the foundation of Tsushima. Four-player experiences will be wave-based Survival missions. These will work similarly to Left 4 Dead 2’s Survival maps.
Apart from the Legends gameplay, a New Game+ will come with the 1.1 update. It will start players on an open-world “shortly after Jin’s initial confrontation with the Khan.” Players will carry over all their items and gear but increase the challenge too.
New charms will be available too, together with the Ghost Flower merchant in Ariake. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will be ready by October 16. Until then, it’s best to familiarize the classes that players can use for the coop matches.
