Gamers will see a showcase of the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima this week. The next Playstation State of Play will concentrate on showing off the title’s gameplay.
Ghost of Tsushima is a much-awaited Playstation-exclusive title from Sucker Punch Productions. State of Play will reveal a full 18 minutes of gameplay for the upcoming stealth action-adventure.
The game has a new take on the open-world, expected to change the current landscape of the genre.

State of Play also noted that it would focus on the world of Tsushima, so fans can expect a full rundown. No PS5 new will come out for that episode.
“The episode will be focused entirely on Ghost of Tsushima, coming to PS4 July 17,” said Playstation in their blog. “You’ll get an extended look at new gameplay footage, including exploration, combat and more.
Ghost of Tsushima delayed its production due to the current pandemic. The good thing is that the game only delayed by three weeks in total. From its original June 26 release, it moved to July 17.
Playstation team to focus only on Tsushima
Tsushima takes place in the late 13th century Feudal Japan on the eponymous island. The game is fully-open world, without any types of waypoints, digital maps, or hindrances. What this means is that the player can go anywhere they want, whenever they want.
The game is without any type of guidance, and players are free to explore. The player can use something akin to a grappling hook to move in hard to explore places.
Tsushima promises a stellar gameplay and beautiful visuals. The setting of Feudal Japan promises a romanticized view of the time too.
Players can compare the experience to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The primary difference is that GoT focuses on more realistic playstyle. The game is also reminiscent of stealth gameplay from Tenchu: Stealth Assassins.
Curiously, Playstation had to specify that there is no news about the Playstation 5. This is likely due to the recent mistake with Inside Xbox this May. During the show, fans were expecting some news about the Xbox Series X, but to no avail. Playstation is trying not to replicate Microsoft’s mistake.
Ghost of Tsushima is ready for pre-orders, with many different options for interested fans. Fans have the option to order the standalone game, Collector’s Edition, or Special Edition.
