‘Ghost of Tsushima’ will be on the Playstation 5

Sucker Punch confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima would be playable on the PS5 via backwards compatibility. The game will also work better with Game Boost.

Ghost of Tsushima is one of the marquee titles of this year, coming late into the PS4’s life cycle. In a series of tweets, dev team Sucker Punch announced the game for the next generation PS5. They will achieve this by utilizing its backwards compatibility function.

Game Boost will help “Tsushima’s” already impressive load times

Tsushima is one of the best games of the year so far. The marquee title from Sucker Punch is definitive, together with Spider-Man for the PS4.

Sony announced over the weekend that 99% of their games are playable on the PS5. Its backwards compatibility is top-tier, giving many different benefits to PS4 titles. Among them is the Game Boost, which ups the frames for various games.

PS4 games can also benefit from the hardware ray tracing and the SSD technology in the game. The load times will be much better, and Sucker Punch knows it.

“PS5 owners playing with Game Boost will see an extra option to allow frame rates up to 60FPS, and while loading speeds on the PS4 are already great, just wait until you see them on the PS5!” says the dev team in a tweet.

The announcement also notes that the game will have to save transfer enabled on it. Sony recently announced that hold migration for their PS4 titles would be up to the devs.

The save migration feature will be a godsend, as Tsushima is a title that takes at least 60 hours to complete.

Legends update will come in time for next-gen consoles

Ghost of Tsushima on the next-gen consoles is something to look forward to. It’s one of the titles that Playstation fans would benefit a ton from the 4K60FPS upscale.

Tsushima will be having an update called Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. This update will include a multiplayer coop mode for up to four players at a time. It will also include vast improvements to the gameplay, together with a New Game+.

The Legends Version 1.1 update will also include new content. This update will add more gear, a Ghost Flower Merchant, and new Photo Mode options. Even then, playing Tsushima on a next-gen console will be a great experience.

The world of Tsushima has enough fidelity to pass as a next-gen game. The lower loading times mean more consistent action in between loads. Ghost of Tsushima is a Playstation-exclusive, but it’s too great a title to pass up.
