The first part, then last year’s Ghostrunner, was a mix of dystopian and sci-fi storytelling. It was a sword-based action game having a first-person perspective.
The title turned out to be a blockbuster upon its release.
After the huge success, 505 Games acquired it in 2020. I was highly impressed with the incredible number of sales of the IP.
Its second installment Ghostrunner 2, will arrive on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
As per the reports, 505 Games has invested around €5 million into its development as an “initial budget.”
However, there’s no detail regarding the main storyline and the overall direction in which Ghostrunner 2 will proceed.
According to solid rumors and speculations, widely 505 Games is interested in extending this franchise to the future.
Just like its predecessor, One More Level is coming back to helm the sequel as well. It will once again make a collaboration with the Polish studio.
Speaking of the first installment’s impact, then it was pretty huge. Last year, it sold more than 600,000 copies worldwide.
With the access to advanced, next-gen hardware, it will be interesting to see how 505 Games takes the series forward.
For those who missed the opportunity of playing the first entry, it’s coming back again this year for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
