No matter what you saw of Anton in the Far Cry 6 reveal a few weeks ago, actor Giancarlo Esposito has different opinions on the character.
In a recent interview during the Summer Game Fest, the actor said that his character of Anton is not a villain in Far Cry 6.

The actor will portray the role of Anton Castillo in the sixth installment in the open-world franchise.
While speaking to Geoff Keighley, host of Summer Game Fest, he said that his character is not a villain in the story.
Describing Anton, he mentioned that he’s actually a person who came from a love of his family and “a love of his community and country.” And that it was in line with everything that’s happening in world politics today.
“I’m not a villain … This guy loves his country. He wants to empower you, Keighley. He wants to empower you to stand up and speak your truth.”
Like other Far Cry 6 teams, Esposito said that his inspiration for the character comes from Cuban ruler Fidel Castro because the country possessed lots of resources. But more than that, its leader could cultivate them.
Indirectly he also made a reference to the US embargo of the island after Castro’s takeover.
Furthermore, he also talked about Adolf Hitler and Nicolae Ceaușescu while speaking on how leaders are different.
It will be interesting to witness Esposito as Anton, going against the game’s protagonist Dani Rojas. While the latter is an apparent positive character, players will have to learn a lot about the former.

What to expect from the story?
Meanwhile, the developing team of the anticipated title is currently preparing for its mega launch later this year.
After revealing the extended trailer last month, the hype is huge already.
However, the sixth entry in the series also faced controversy recently due to its debatable angle.
Following many outlets publishing about the political aspects of the entire plot, Ubisoft then made its official clarification.
And its narrative director said that Far Cry 6 is indeed political. But he also added that its story is based on past revolutions and not the “current political climate in Cuba.”
Players will know the rest only after the debut of the awaited title.
Arriving on October 7, Far Cry 6 will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
