‘God of War 2’ release date leak addressed by developer

2018’s God of War is one of the best games of this generation, and it certainly deserved the awards it got. The game was the start of a new chapter for Kratos, and fans want to see God of War 2 as soon as possible.

God of War ended properly, but there’s still a lot of room for a sequel. The developers are planning on God of War 2 and possibly more games down the pipeline. Fans are eager to get these titles, which is why they’re quick to jump on any possible leaks.

Release date leaks debunked

There have been leaks talking about a possible early 2021 release date for the game’s sequel. It would be released for the PlayStation 5. However, players shouldn’t be too excited about the leaks as the developed have finally addressed it.

God of War creator Cory Barlog did not say a lot about the leaks, but he did tweet a meme when the leaks broke out.

It should be obvious that we won’t be seeing God of War 2 anytime soon. Considering that it’s an AAA game, it will be in years of development before launching. If anything, we could be hearing some news about the upcoming sequel next year, but that might be as far as we get.

What’s next?

It’s obvious from the get-go that God of War is leading into the cataclysmic Norse mythology event called Ragnarok – the end of days. Kratos and Atreus will be at the center of the event, but it seems like they aren’t supposed to be there.

Some theories suggest that Ragnarok would have been far off, but Kratos and Atreus seemingly made it come sooner. This could be tackled in the sequel.

In the sequel, we might see more of the Norse gods such as Thor and Odin. In a post-credits scene, we see Thor arriving at the house of Kratos and his son. It most likely has something to do with the fact that the duo killed the god’s son in the game.

God of War 2 may not have any news about it yet, but that doesn’t stop fans from getting excited. It’s expected to be one of the best PlayStation 5 games considering how great the first game was. The game might be years away from a reveal, but at least fans know that there is another game planned.
