The game trailer everyone was waiting for is finally here. Santa Monica Studios just revealed the first glimpse from God of War: Ragnarok.
Without any second thought, Sony’s PlayStation Showcase event’s biggest highlight was the God of War: Ragnarok trailer. It also cleared the story a little bit and how it will move forward from the last entry.
‘God of War: Ragnarok’ game trailer explained
Kratos and Atreus are back, and this time, they have to deal with a lot.
Because the God of Thunder, Thor himself, has arrived to challenge them with the iconic Mjölnir. Plus, Freya will also pose a major threat to the father-son duo. They both are the main antagonists in God of War: Ragnarok.
The exclusive gameplay clip also showed enemies teleporting in with the help of the Bifröst.
Talking about Thor, then the sequel will present a totally different version of him from the now-famous MCU iteration. Instead, Ragnarok‘s Thor will have a darker character in terms of overall personality. It will be closer to the original Norse legend in the mythology.
So don’t expect Chris Hemsworth-like similarities at all!
God of War: Ragnarok takes place after several years after the first installment. It will mostly focus on Atreus’ heritage and also the Fimbulwinter’s obstacles. It’s the “great winter” that will lead into Ragnarok.
On the part of attacking abilities, Atreus will have a new Runic Summon. Players will also get the option of visiting all nine realms, unlike the predecessor in which only six were available.
Following the title reveal many months ago, the first trailer will surely put a smile on the fans’ faces, making them even more hyped!

More games coming!
While all the God of War lovers are excited about the second installment, other projects are curious.
In terms of big-budgeted titles, there are tons of options for gaming enthusiasts in the remaining months of 2021, such as Halo Infinite, New World, Battlefield 2042, and Dying Light 2.
Activision’s Call of Duty: Vanguard will also make its landing before the year’s end. The next big installment in the iconic first-person shooter series is set in the era of World War 2. But this time, the developers are emphasizing a lot on the multiplayer modes.
Then there are other launches like Cyber Shadow, Shadow Warrior 3, Stray, and Deathloop.
It will be back to God of War: Ragnarok, again, and it will release next year for PS5.
