Godzilla vs. Kong is one of the most awaited films this year. However, due to the pandemic, it looks like it’s not going to arrive on the expected release date.
Godzilla vs. Kong is supposed to hit theaters on November 20. But the global health crisis has forced production companies to push back and alter their upcoming films’ schedules in order to fit it accordingly.
New premiere date
According to Comic Book, the monster film directed by Adam Wingard could be delayed until May 2021. This new schedule takes over what was supposed to be the release date of The Matrix 4.
Even the release of the behind-the-scenes book The Art of Godzilla vs. Kong has been moved. It was originally scheduled for November 17 to coincide with the movie’s premiere.
But now it’s going to be available on May 21, 2021, according to the publisher’s listing on Amazon.
Teaser photos of the prequel comic
Fans are still excited though despite the delay of Godzilla vs. Kong. A preview comic for the upcoming movie featuring an unfamiliar look of Kong was recently released.
The teaser came from Legendary Comics panel at WonderCon @ Home, which is a virtual event organized by WonderCon in replacement to the canceled live event due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
During the panel, the publisher provided an update on MonsterVerse’s books for 2020 and it included the prequel comic to Godzilla vs. Kong. The teaser allowed fans to see how huge and buff Kong is in the comics.

The famous enormous gorilla also appears different than usual in the image. He sports an older look with a long ragged beard.
Everyone who has seen Kong: Skull Island will be able to compare the size of Kong in the movie, which seems to show that he was just a baby there.
This explains the bigger size of Kong in the upcoming new movie. He is made in a more monstrous size so that he can take on Godzilla. And since it’s a prequel, Kong may even be bigger in the film.
Aside from Kong, the comic also showed an abnormally large Bengal tiger. It turns out that the tiger was originally intended to appear Kong: Skull Island.
Film details
Legendary Pictures have been keeping details of the movie under wraps. But there are some info like the cast members.
In the list are Millie Bobby Brown, Julian Dennison, Brian Tyree Henry, Rebecca Hall, Alexander Skarsgard, Kyle Chandler, Jessica Henwick, Lance Reddick, and Eisa Gonzalez.
It’s also said that Warner Bros. is possibly delaying the epic showdown of the monsters to ensure that they bring the best possible film. This follows after Godzilla: King of the Monsters was released and it disappointed viewers.
Stay tuned for more updates on Godzilla vs. Kong.
