When it comes to merging, Google does not play.
According to a recent interview, it was shared that Google wanted to merge with Tencent to take over Epic Games.
The company has been under the radar for quite some time now. When Epic publicly rejected Apple and Google’s app store items, it was a hit that they had to be sued in the year 2020.
How did this happen?
It was a fight that was going to happen, and the pot was brewing. Apparently, there have been many daggers in the industry, and by then, and there were sharp looks from all the investors who wanted to take up the money.
Tencent is the Chinese conglomerate that owns Riot Games and even pieces of the big developers such as 40% of Epic Games. Google wanted to make a deal with Tencent Games and to take the whole of Epic Games.
Why was Epic Games under the radar of the company?
Sweeney, in charge of the shareholdings, said that the merger would be huge for both companies. In a recent interview, it has been shared that the merger would happen on a lot of considerations.
First of all, it was to make sure that both the companies could benefit from it, and secondly, it was to understand how both the teams would have reacted to the merge.
Did the merge finally happen?
In the interview, it was understood that all the Google executives were looking forward to the disagreement, and it was that most of them took too far to making a deal with Tencent to wrest control of the company and from founder Tim Sweeney. Google did think that Epic Games might not accept their offer, which they had at hand, and this might be the only way to get them through.
The detail which came out was directed from the Northern California USA District Court, which shared the final results. In a couple of weeks, it was seen that Tencent almost blacked out most of their details along with the others.
It was Google’s preference, and once the formation was sealed, it would have yielded a lot of results accordingly. In a statement released by the team, there has not been a proper indication of how it works.
It was a consideration that was going to be made by the team, but there has not been any confirmation.
