Google has started to put a much bigger spotlight on Fi support for 5G. With the company now advertising its “nationwide 5G” on its coverage website.
Google Fi 5G network is already nationwide. That is why most people can now get coverage in their area. If you’re concerned about 5G coverage of where you live, check out this coverage map. A new coverage map will allow you to search across the U.S.
However, the existing 5G is only on the T-Mobile network. Factors such as speed and performance will still depend on things like carrier network capabilities, device configuration, and more.
Samsung 5G Phones
Google Fi users have been able to use unlocked Samsung smartphones on the MVNO’s network for years. Now it’s different. Those same users can now buy a Samsung Galaxy device directly from Google.
The company has started selling various Samsung phones on Fi’s official website: Note 20, Note 20 Ultra, S20, S20 Plus, S20 Ultra, and A71 5G.
As Engadget reported, you can also get a discount on those devices if you decide to buy them through Fi. The tech giant is now offering a $300 bill credit when purchasing the Note 20 or Note 20 Ultra. Then, a $300 off after activation of any one of the S20 models in its lineup. Also, a $150 off for Samsung Galaxy A71 5G.
All six Samsung phones are fully compatible with Fi’s “nationwide” 5G network. You can see if Google has 5G coverage in your area by visiting the Fi website.
If you are an existing T-Mobile user, you’ve been able to get a 5G signal on Fi for a couple of months now. You’ll also have the chance to take advantage of its 5G network when the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G come out in a few weeks.

In addition to bringing support for Samsung’s latest 5G phones, Google Fi has certified its new smartphones, the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G. Both were recently unveiled at Google’s Launch Night In event.
Pixel 5, on the other hand, is set to launch overseas on October 15. It will then be released in the U.S. and Canada on October 29.
