Zoom and Google Meet are two of the most popular video conference tools available for remote works. Meet feels better for those who are invested in the Google ecosystem considering the privacy issues plaguing Zoom.
Google added that any changes to the plans will be disclosed soon.
Both Zoom and Meet have limited video conferences on free accounts. Meet lasts longer with one hour of free calls.
However, now that the Google promo is ending, it seems like users may have to look for an alternative soon.
Besides the extended Meet conference lengths, Google users are parting ways to several G Suite features such as meeting with up to 250 participants.
Users may also stream the conference with 100,000 people limit with an option to download the meetings direct to Google Drive.
For users to retain these features, they now have to pay US$25 a month for the “Enterprise” plan.
Discord is currently one of the best alternatives to Zoom and Meet. The best part is it is free to use.
Different channels may be created to cater to each work department or to segregate one conference to another. This means that a company may conduct several meetings into one Discord server.
However, there are some Discord features that are hard to grasp for some users. Initially used by gamers, Discord is easy to use for simple voice and video calls.
Lastly, Discord uses less mobile data compared to Google Meet and Zoom which is great for people on the go.
