Ahead of the Google Pixel 4a launch, Google is now more than determined to beat Apple’s current mobile king, the iPhone SE 2020, as it discounts the premium Pixel 4 and 4XL.
One of the hotly-anticipated phones in 2020 is the Google Pixel 4a, Google’s refresh to its hugely-popular Pixel 3A. And while the phone is already dubbed as the next iPhone SE killer, Google could now be doing its part to flatten the mid-range competition.
Price reduction as usual
Google has just discounted its current premium iterations, the Pixel 4 and 4XL, to price tags that rival the new iPhone SE. Accordingly, the 6.3-inch Pixel 4XL with 128GB now retails for USD 699, reduced from USD 999. Note that this is Google’s top-tier variant from the Pixel 4 series. On the other hand, the 64GB version’s price is reduced to USD 599.
Meanwhile, Google’s 5.7-inch, 128GB-toting vanilla Pixel 4 is now priced at USD 599. At the time of its launch, it was priced at USD 899. Its 64GB edition is also reduced to USD 499.
A definitive premium phone
The new pricing of the Google Pixel 4 series is, without a doubt, one of its most attractive Pixel offerings to date. This is especially true when you take into account that the lineup is a premium series, ones that also bank on a straight-up Android platform.
As it is, the series current pricing makes it a good deal, if not your ticket, to authentic Android flagship experience.
Google Pixel 4a leaks again
With its rumored May 22nd launch becoming more imminent by the day, it’s only customary that its leaks are nonstop. The latest to have emerged from the grapevine is its spotting on Geekbench’s benchmarking software.
Codenamed as Google Sunfish, Google’s upcoming mid-range smartphone scores a respectable single-core score of 2,529 points, and a multi-core score of 6,366 points. The phone’s listing also suggests that the phone will have 6GB of RAM at its core, with a possible Qualcomm chipset. Speculations are rife that the phone could arrive with the Snapdragon 730 chipset.
Other rumors also point that the Google Pixel 4a could launch with the Snapdragon 76 SoC. If this turns out legitimately, then the forthcoming phone could easily become Google’s most affordable 5G phone in the process.
Google’s next mid-ranger is also pegged to come with Adreno 618 GPU, a 5.81-inch 2,340 x 1,080 display with a cutout on the upper-left section of the screen, a 60Hz refresh rate, a 3,080mAh battery, and dual-SIM support.
The Google Pixel 4a is tipped to carry a starting price tag of USD 399. This is the same the new iPhone SE launched with
