Gossip Girl reboot plot details
Executive producer Josh Schwartz asserted that the reboot is not a sequel, but rather a continuation of the original series. He said:
“There aren’t, like, new actors playing Serena and Blair. It’s not a remake. [It’s] a continuation of that world. We’ve reached out to all of them to let them know it was happening, and we would love for them to be involved if they want to be involved.”
The 10-episode show is set eight years after the original series ended. The new version of the series will follow a new generation of the Upper East Siders. Just like the previous series, the new characters are introduced to the Gossip Girl website.
