Guardian of the Galaxy shows a new ray-tracing feature and other PC requirements needed for players.
Ray tracing is a computer graphics rendering technique that creates more realistic lighting in 3D models by simulating how light behaves in three dimensions and how it interacts with surfaces such as water, glass, or metallic objects.
What is ray tracing all about?
Ray tracing can also create reflections or shadow effects by calculating what it would look like if light were coming from a certain direction and bouncing off certain surfaces. Ray tracing is not a new technique, but in recent years, the change in graphical performance has made it possible to create games with much more excellent graphical quality.
By creating special “rays” that can bounce off every surface in the scene, ray tracing creates a much more realistic light interaction with models than earlier methods. To begin with, rays are traced from all characters in the model back to the point of origin.
If any collisions occur, they are then taken into account when calculating lighting.
The new “Guardian of the Galaxy” game will be available in 3 versions: PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The PC version will be fully optimized for ray tracing, and all previous content will also be available. By purchasing the game, owners will receive all previous downloadable content for free. The game will also come with a season pass.
The premise of the game: What developers have decided to add?
The game is set in 2560, after the Battle of Xandar, where the Guardians of the Galaxy had just defeated Thanos and his forces. Star-Lord and Gamora have had a daughter, and they named her “Nova.” Gamora didn’t want her to become a Guardian like her father and herself, so she secretly sent Nova to Earth to protect her from Thanos and his black order.
Earth is about to be invaded by some dangerous aliens called Badoon, known for hunting humans. After Nova arrives on Earth, she is saved by Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot.
The Badoon finally attack Earth, so the heroes go to space to stop them. During their travels, they encounter new allies, some of which are not willing to help them out. Gamora is looking for the cosmic cube named “Almighty,” who promises her that she can bring back her sister, Nebula, if she brings him the cube. Thanos also returns with his children Cull Obsidian and Ebony Maw, who are trying to retrieve the soul stone on behalf of Thanos.
