The rumored game is said to be under development at Square Enix. However, the publisher hasn’t confirmed anything on the project or its existence.
But recently, in its Twitter post, it showcased the slate for what to expect in the E3 2021. And if you look closely, then it also mentions a world premiere from developer Eidos Montreal.
So how is that connected to a possible Marvel-based Guardians of the Galaxy title?
The story is about four years old and goes back to 2017 when Eidos Montreal canceled a sequel to Deus Ex. And during that period, Square Enix also made a partnership with Marvel.
Since then, the rumors have escalated when it comes to making a Guardians of the Galaxy game.
It also received backing from industry insider Jeff Grub, who, last month, said that the project is still in development. Furthermore, he mentioned that GOTG could be unveiled at E3 2021.
Other than such speculation, there’s nothing else to believe that the title will be announced during the event.
As of now, you should take this with a grain of salt.
However, fans can stay hopeful if they want another Marvel-based game.
