Blake Shelton asked for Gwen Stefani’s hand in marriage two weeks ago.
After nearly five years of waiting, Blake Shelton finally popped the question to Gwen Stefani. The country singer asked for the “Cool” singer’s hand in marriage earlier in October.
The pair took their announcement to social media. They posted the same picture of themselves, featuring the engagement ring Shelton gifted Stefani.
As fans and supporters continue to celebrate the love between the two judges of The Voice, sources told OK! magazine that they only did to increase the ratings of their reality competition show. Following the allegations, Gossip Cop sought out the truth behind the assertions.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are tying the knot to increase ratings
The anonymous sources explained that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are “culminating” their five-year dating stage to boost the ratings of The Voice. It was not stated, though, as to why they need to do it or whether their show is suffering from low viewership ratings.
The insiders argued, however, that the pair, indeed, love each other. “They are very much together” and they are “in love.” But, a bit of publicity stunt is “not going to hurt anyone,” the source added.
Aside from the allegation, the unknown sources continued that a proposal on a live set of the show would have been ideal. Nevertheless, what Shelton planned and did for the special moment is also “great.”
Is it true, though?
The publication clarified that none of the claims are true. As explained, it does not make any sense at all, considering that The Voice does well on its own. Moreover, the reality competition series would not reportedly show how Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton plan their lives together or even their wedding.
Gossip Cop then went on to slam the outlet for its bogus narrative. It also pointed out that the tabloids have repeatedly released false reports in the past about the couple.
In the end, the publication deemed the whole debacle as “insulting” and “disrespectful” toward the couple. Gwen and Blake are tying the knot because they want it, and they want to be together.
About the jaw-dropping cost of the ring
After the engagement announcement went public, several publications immediately released their respective analysis of the ring that the “Hollaback Girl” received. Good Housekeeping reported that it costs between AU$966,000 and AU$1.1 million.
Katie Zimmerman, who serves as the Chief Merchandising Officer at the Blue Niles, shared her observations. She claimed that Gwen Stefani appears to have received a ring that features either a round or oval cut in a platinum setting. It is likely between eight to ten carats in weight, she noted.
