Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were at the center of all sorts of rumors before they got engaged.
Last year, In Touch Weekly claimed that Gwen Stefani threatened to leave Shelton if he didn’t propose.
Gwen Stefani grew tired of waiting for Blake Shelton to propose
A source said that Stefani has been waiting patiently for her boyfriend to get down on one knee. But she’s starting to lose her trust that Shelton would propose.
After The Voice wrapped up one of its seasons last year, Stefani thought that Shelton would finally propose to her.
Their fellow judges, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend, also thought the same thing. And they don’t also know what Shelton is waiting for.
However, the tabloid’s claims couldn’t be farther from the truth.
If Stefani threatened to leave Shelton last year if he didn’t propose, the couple wouldn’t still be together today.
After all, Shelton just asked for Stefani’s hand in marriage in October.
Gwen Stefani didn’t rush Blake Shelton
The No Doubt singer also responded to the rumors that she’s demanding Shelton to propose to her very early on in their relationship.
“When there’s a trauma the way that we had a trauma, back in the day, like going through all these hard times and to get to a place where you find somebody that’s your best friend, that you know you can depend on and trust and just go through life (with), I think that we’re just trying to be in the moment as much as we can,” she told Today.
Gossip Cop also debunked the tabloid’s claims after they spoke to a rep for Gwen Stefani.
They were told that none of the rumors are true. In fact, Stefani and Shelton were on the same page when it comes to not rushing things.
The couple dated for five years before the country singer proposed to Stefani.
No to COVID-19 wedding
Meanwhile, Stefani and Shelton have yet to share their wedding plans.
But during her recent interview with Ryan Seacrest, Stefani said that she and Shelton have agreed to wait out the pandemic.
“I would say I just want my parents there at this point. My parents wouldn’t come to Thanksgiving because they’re so scared so really would rather it not be a COVID situation. Like, I would rather not have masks and that kind of thing. Even when you cut it down to just family, it’s still too many people for COVID so we’re sort of going to see what happens in the next few months,” Gwen Stefani said.
