Gwyneth Paltrow, allegedly, feels threatened by Reese Witherspoon’s upcoming kitchen venture.
According to National Enquirer, Goop is already in trouble due to the coronavirus pandemic. And Gwyneth Paltrow will have more competition if Witherspoon pushes through with her alleged plans. However, no concrete pieces of evidence can confirm that these hearsays are correct as of this writing.
Reese Witherspoon allegedly expanding her business
But the source said that Witherspoon has been adamant at wanting to expand her brand beyond her career as an actress. Other than her clothing line and book club, Witherspoon is, allegedly, thinking about pursuing a career in the kitchen.
“Gwyneth has heard about what Reese intends to do and she is not pleased. She can’t believe Reese would encroach on her territory like this!” the unnamed source said, as per National Enquirer.
Reese Witherspoon allegedly wants to compete with Gwyneth Paltrow, Goop
The insider also said that the Big Little Lies actress is taking her plans seriously. And she doesn’t care who gets in her way.
“She’d love to offer kitchen gadgets and appliances for sale and she’s already working out the details and brand name manufacturers. Reese is already boasting that her brand is way more down-to-earth than Gwyneth’s. She wants to appeal to women who think Goop is too left-field, weird, and silly. She sees a real opportunity in this market and is going to go for it with everything she’s got,” the source said.
However, the tabloid is simply creating a feud where there isn’t one. Witherspoon is not trying to compete with Gwyneth Paltrow.
As of late, there isn’t also any confirmation that Witherspoon wants to start a new business. The actress already has a retail brand called Draper James.
Gwyneth Paltrow talks about her e-commerce platform
Paltrow, on the other hand, is still actively involved with Goop. Despite a recent lawsuit, The New York Times revealed that the e-commerce platform is worth $250 million. The publication also revealed that the company’s revenue is still growing.
The actress also shared with the publication what Goop is all about.
“We want to always be moving culture forward with what we do in the content and in the offerings and also create conversations and forums to help eliminate shame. I think a lot of women experience a lot of shame in their lives. The more we talk about things that are sometimes uncomfortable, that are sometimes unknown, it might resonate with somebody. And then we might help them shed a little bit of that feeling,” Gwyneth Paltrow said.
