Developers released Halo: The Master Chief Collection slowly for the past weeks starting with the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. There were no follow up titles this month, but 343 Studios released a huge update detailing what is coming.
The Master Chief Collection PC edition continues to evolve as the developers implemented changes based on the community feedback it receives.
Exciting features coming soon
343 Studios will be adding a jam-packed content update anytime soon for the Halo 2: Anniversary beta testers. There will be an all-new challenge system, theatre mode, campaign missions as well as a whole lot of customization options for the PC.
Early access players and some selected few will be able to play the game before the full edition release. Developers will take into account feedback from the chosen ones for more updates.
The new challenge system is similar to other modern games, wherein rewards are given upon challenge completion. There are several types of missions, including Legendary, Easy, Normal, or Heroic mission. Depending on the mission taken, the more difficult the mission, the greater the reward will be. However, there is no statement whether the rewards will be carried over for the accounts once the full edition gets released.
There is also an update for the theater mode. Players can now use it with a keyboard and mouse. Players can now access all videos, screenshots, and other needs easily compared before.
Developers gave Halo 2 missions an update as well. There are certain missions with the included level of difficulty – a great option for players with no prior Halo experience. They added a single-player and an online multiplayer co-op as well. The available missions as of the moment are Metropolis, Cairo Station, Delta Halo, The Oracle, Gravemind and the Quarantine Zone.
Developers will add an all-new Spartan and Elite customization to the update. Both custom options will be available on the Halo 2 and the Halo 2: Anniversary Edition.
They added all-new Spartan and Elite customization options as well, with these new additions available for both Halo 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary.
Multiplayer co-op gets an update
For multiplayer co-op, there will be new maps and playlists upon the update. There will be custom games, social games, and competitive game mode.
The Social Games mode will include a 2v2, 4v4, and a full squad 8v8 battle. Meanwhile, the Competitive mode will have an H2C Team hardcore.
The regular Halo 2 Multiplayer will get the Lockout, Midship, Beaver Creek, Burial Mounds, Coagulation, Headlong, Waterworks, Containment, Sanctuary, and Turf.
Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer will get a different set – Lockdown, Zenith, Stonetwon, Bloodline, and Shrine
Halo 2: Infinite to follow soon
Developers released the beta versions of the Halo 2: Anniversary and Halo 2, and more updates are coming soon.
Halo 2: Infinite is set to be the next one for release but the developers are experiencing restraint due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. They have no release date yet, but the good news is it will be available for both the Xbox and PC.
