Halo 3 is officially heading to PC and finally joining The Master Chief Collection next week, 13 years after its console debut.
“Finish the fight,” says the official Twitter of the Halo franchise as it announces the arrival of Halo 3 to The Master Chief Collection next Tuesday, July 14.
PC players to finally complete the Halo trilogy
Halo 3 is the last title of the Bungie’s sci-fi military-centered video game franchise. The third Halo installment was first released as a console-exclusive in 2007.
The “finish the fight,” Twitter announcement is in reference to the biggest cliffhanger of the game series, which is the finale of Halo 2, where Chief said, “finishing this fight.”

From the game’s official website, the announcement reads:
“Halo 3 comes to PC as the next installment in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Now optimized for PC, witness the Master Chief’s return to finish the fight between the Covenant, the Flood, and the entire Human race in this dramatic, pulse-pounding conclusion of the original Halo trilogy.”
The Verge dubs the third Halo installment’s multiplayer mode as the game’s “popular part,” with the ability to forge edit—letting players manipulate weapons and vehicles. The customizable maps were Halo 3′s highly commended feature as well.
Per the media outlet, 343 Industries has been conducting testings recently, so most definitely the PC conversion of these highly noted Halo game features is something to look out for come July 14.

Eurogamer added that the Halo 3 PC optimization comes with “up to 4K UHD and 60fps support.” There’s also the added ability to customize mouse, keyboard, and FOV functions.
The addition of Halo 3 to The Master Chief Collection for PC is reportedly an “especially momentous occasion.” Its predecessors, the Halo and Halo 2 expanded to the PC platform only within a few years after their Xbox release. It took 13 years for Halo 3 to finally join its brethren outside of the console-exclusivity.
Players should expect all 11 missions from the game’s campaign, and the 24 maps for the multiplayer mode. Forge and Theater will also be made available, per the U.K.-based media outlet.
