Halo’s Master Chief is joining Fortnite once again as a wearable skin, following revelation during Halo Infinite’s Gamescom presentation.
Halo main protagonist Master Chief previously entered the island back in December 11, 2020. But like other crossovers with other franchises, the series hero’s presence in the game was just a temporary thing.
Many players had ample time to get the costume via the Item Shop. But it rotating out left others missing out on a spectacular outfit. To wear armor from a shooting game is, to say the least, very fitting for a game that’s also known for blasting others with guns. That and, also, along with other items that share a common theme during the crossover special.
As such, while Master Chief’s skin is the major highlight of the homecoming, other items are also in store. More specifically, a Gravity Hammer axe, a UNSC Pelican glider, unique back bling, as well as an emote. Altogether, these items make for an overall set that pays tribute to Halo Infinite’s upcoming release this year.
Defender of humanity and destroyer of alien ringworlds, the Master Chief returns to the Island.

Official Announcement
For a while, following that event, many have been left wondering as to when the cosmetics will be returning again. That question is finally put to rest as Master Chief’s comeback is confirmed, along with the other Halo-themed stuff. The confirmation comes during Halo Infinite’s Gamescom Opening Night Live where an official word came out.
Coinciding that proclamation is also a tweet that described the Halo protagonist as “defender of humanity” and “destroyer of alien ringworlds”. But more importantly, the explicit suggestion of his return “to the island”.
On Halo Infinite
Going back to the topic of the latest developing title for the Halo franchise, it seems Infinite is on track for this year’s launch. As per Gamescom announcement, the game is set for release on December 8, 2021.
Alongside the title’s awaited launch, other cool stuff is also in store for the genuine Halo fans. Of which includes a Halo Infinite-themed Xbox Series X console and Elite controller. Speaking of the former, it appears that stocks almost immediately went out of as soon as they become available in retail stores. Scalpers being a major player in the scarcity (unsurprisingly), the same item can still be found in e-Commerce platforms, but at no less than double the original retail value. The most expensive of which currently going as far as $5100 through stacking consumer bids at eBay.
