Hanna season 2 is all set to return to the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video. But before it will start dropping the new episodes, they are teasing fans with a trailer.
Hanna is an action drama web series based on the 2011 film of the same name. It premiered in March 2019 with eight episodes and was renewed the next month.
Now, fans are looking forward to Hanna season 2, which is scheduled to be released on Friday, July 3, on Amazon Prime.
Quick recap
Season 1 follows the plot of the 2011 film. The last episode ended in an emotional whirlwind that made fans wonder what’s going to happen next with Esme Creed-Miles’ character Hanna.
The teen super-soldier was able to earn her freedom from the sinister government agency Utrax. However, it came with a hefty price—the death of her adoptive father Erik Heller (Joel Kinnaman).
She lost him while in a fight to free fellow Utrax trainee Clara (Yasmin Monet Prince). In the end, the girls escaped into the forest and into their freedom.
Season 2 trailer
Season 1 was a happy ending that Hanna had hoped for. However, in the season 2 trailer, she’s not as free as she thought she is after all.
Hanna has a lot to do, and it mostly involves revenge and going on an undercover mission. The trailer kicks off with the titular character finding a new home and a new family.
Sporting a new look, she plots her explosive revenge, which involves infiltrating Utrax’s “second phase” facility, the Meadows, and taking down the entire program that trains young women to assassins.
But she is still being monitored by Utrax’s supervisor John Carmichael, portrayed by new cast member Dermot Mulroney.
Moreover, Hanna is going to find help from her previous archenemy turned ally, CIA agent Marissa Wiegler (Mireille Enos), who will do everything in her power to protect Hanna and herself from the organization.

But things aren’t going to be as simple as it seems for Hanna. As noted in the official synopsis:
“As Hanna delves deeper into the elusive world of The Meadows and meets others like herself, including Sandy (Áine Rose Daly) and Jules (Gianna Kiehl), she begins to question her role in the larger context of Utrax’s assassin program and ultimately, where she truly belongs.”
The second season of the series has a lot of something new to offer fans. It now has lots of opportunities to surprise viewers since most of the film’s plot has already been covered in the first season.
Fans will have to find out what happens next when Hanna season 2 premieres.
