Since being leaked and confirmed last year, fans of the Harry Potter franchise have been excited about an upcoming title from Warner Bros. After months of silence, a new leak reveals some of what could be major gameplay features for the upcoming Harry Potter RPG.
The new details have been posted by a person who works for the Warner Bros. marketing department. However, the leaker is yet to reveal any proof about the authenticity of his claims regarding the Harry Potter RPG. Here are some of the things that the game will allegedly have.
Story elements
The game will be titled Hogwarts: A Dark Legacy, and it takes place after Harry Potter’s kids have graduated from the wizard school. Players will assume the role of a 5th-year wizard student who’s transferring to Hogwarts. The protagonist will be a former Death Eater.
According to the leaks, the game isn’t made for children, and it will have darker and more mature themes. As for familiar faces, the game will apparently see the return of many characters from the Harry Potter universe.
Gameplay
Players will be given the chance to become their dream wizard in the upcoming Harry Potter RPG. They can freely customize their character’s appearance, but it goes deeper than that. Players will also get to choose whether they’ll be born as muggle, a pureblood, or a half-blood.
Later on in the game, players will be sorted into one of the four houses in Hogwarts. Each of the houses has its own quests apparently.
The combat system will revolve around timing over aggressiveness. As for the spells they can use, players will be able to customize theirs via a skill tree.
Perhaps one of the most interesting gameplay features in the upcoming title is a robust nemesis system similar to the one found in Shadow of Mordor, which is another one of Warner Bros.’ games. With the nemesis system, players can not only beat an enemy, but they can also kill or turn them into an ally.
As for minigames and side content, the leak notes that Quidditch may be a part of the game, but it’s yet to be confirmed. However, a deep and challenging card game is already a part of the plans.
As these are just leaks from an alleged employee of Warner Bros., the rumors should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, if these are indeed true, then players have a lot to be excited about in the upcoming Harry Potter RPG.
