‘Hawkeye’ Disney+ series to recast Mockingbird, new villain revealed

Hawkeye will give fans a big treat while introducing character Mockingbird, aka Bobbi Morse, to the MCU. The Disney+ series, however, won’t be casting back actress Adrianne Palicki from Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.

As per the report by FandomWire, Marvel Studios’ head Kevin Feige will be recasting Mockingbird.

It might come out as a disappointment for Agents of SHIELD lovers, but it is true. He already mentioned that MCU wouldn’t be connecting to anything he didn’t have control over in the past.

On a positive note, the character will be returning with a new actress in the role of Bobbi Morse.

It also means that the MCU version of Mockingbird will differ from what viewers saw on the Agents series.

Series villain Madam Mask revealed

According to strong rumors and early leaks, Madam Mask will be the villain of the Marvel series Hawkeye.

Interestingly, in the comics, she’s a love interest and enemy of Iron Man. She also had several storylines with Clint Barton, as well as other issues. But now that Tony Stark is no more, her inclusion will be intriguing to watch out.

Those who don’t know about Madam Mask, she’s the daughter of Count Nefaria. To cover her disfigured face, she started wearing a golden mask and continued to do it even after getting healed.

Disney+ Hawkeye release date and cast

Disney Plus streaming series will bring back actor Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton. Actress Hailee Steinfeld will be playing his successor Kate Bishop aka the new Hawkeye.

Amber Finlayson and Katie Ellwood will be directing the show. Rhys Thomas will also be there to direct several individual episodes. The writer of Mad Men, Jonathan Igla, has penned the story.

Hawkeye will be coming around late 2021. Right now, the production on many Marvel projects is halted due to COVID-19. The shootings have resumed back, but it’s happening gradually.

Things will take time to come back to normal for both Marvel Studios and MCU die-hard fans. They are waiting in excitement for the Phase four line-up.

Along with Hawkeye in next year will be filled with a lot of new entries. They include the Loki series, Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Marvel’s What If? Others might arrive as well in case everything is right regarding the pandemic.

Marvel Cinematic Universe’s plans are significant for the future phases, but the unexpected global crisis has spoiled the situation.
