Superman star Henry Cavill said that he will not shoot new scenes for director Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League on HBO Max.
Amid reports that Snyder is getting behind the camera again with the original Justice League cast this October, Henry Cavill firmly said he has no schedule for reshoots.
“It’s all stuff that has been already done,” Cavill said in an interview with Collider. “I don’t know how things are going to evolve and change and adapt depending on a different length of the movie and whatever may happen in post-production.”
The actor said that he’s simply looking forward to joining the Snyder Cut watching party just like any other fan. He reiterated that he completed his work on the movie four years ago.
Snyder Cut contained in four episodes
However, Cavill’s interview happened before The Hollywood Reporter published a story that the Snyder Cut will likely need additional filming. The director is planning to release an extended version as a four-episode limited series on the streaming platform.
The report went on to attest that there is a call sheet for Henry Cavill as Superman, along with Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Even Ray Fisher as Cyborg is in the call sheet despite his dispute with WarnerMedia.
The Justice League Snyder Cut reshoot will apparently take place within a week only and will cost the studio another $70 million.
Snyder left the production when it was nearing completion following the unexpected death of his daughter three years ago. Joss Whedon took over as director but fans weren’t happy with the outcome and the movie failed at the box office.

Superman is filming The Witcher
However, it would be impossible for Henry Cavill to join the Justice League reshoots in Los Angeles since he is currently in the U.K. and filming The Witcher season 2. The Netflix show just restarted their production after months of a shutdown and won’t be wrapping up anytime soon.
Travel protocols are currently strict due to the pandemic, making it harder for Cavill to divide his time between two productions. If he leaves for the Justice League reshoot, he will affect the schedule of the cast and crew on his Netflix series, especially with the quarantine requirements.
Sources say, however, that the Snyder Cut will not be the last time Henry Cavill plays Superman. The actor could reprise the role for a cameo on Shazam! 2 or Black Adam.
