Even though Warner Bros. announced that Man of Steel 2 might not happen, for now, Henry Cavill will still reprise his role as Superman.
Man of Steel became prominent when it dropped on theatrical screens in 2013. Critics and fans alike praised the film’s visuals and the director’s score. Above all, it has raked millions of viewers worldwide. As a result, it became one of the highest-grossing films in 2013, with $668 million earned.
Man of Steel 2 not in the works
After Man of Steel’s success, fans were left in limbo and further wondered about the future of the movie. Unfortunately, Warner Bros. has previously confirmed that there is currently no Man of Steel 2 film in the works. However, several reports asserted that Henry Cavill will return as DC’s Superman.
Cavill could come back in a couple of different ways, though not in a stand-alone film. He is not likely to make a cameo in Matt Reeve’s forthcoming The Batman movie. Furthermore, Wonder Woman 1984 and Suicide Squad are out in the can. This is because both movies had already wrapped up production.
Luckily, there is a great possibility that Cavill’s character would be featured in Shazam 2, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, or Jason Momoa’s Aquaman. These titles have halted filming due to COVID-19 restrictions. Hence, one social distancing and quarantine directives are lifted, fans will find out whether Cavill will star in either of these movies.
