Open Beta schedule

The Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War beta will run for two weeks. Because of Activision’s partnership with Sony, the first week will be exclusive to PlayStation players only.

Those who had pre-ordered a digital copy will be eligible to participate in the PS4 early access which starts on October 8, Thursday, and end on October 9. The next day, October 10, the devs will host the open beta for PS4 players; This will run until October 12.

In the second week, Xbox and PC players will finally get the chance to participate in the beta. The first two days (October 15 to 16) of week two will be the early access for Xbox and PC players. Again, only Xbox and PC players that pre-ordered the digital copy will be able to participate in the early access.

The Black Ops Cold War beta will be open to all platforms from October 17 until October 19.

What to expect

Activision hasn’t given much detail regarding the things people can expect to see on the open beta. It is highly likely that players would get to see the features shown in the Open Alpha but with a number of additions.

Two new game modes will be introduced in the beta namely the VIP Escort and the Fireteam: Dirty Bomb. Treyarch has not confirmed any new maps for the beta but fans should expect to see at least a few additions when the beta opens.

Players will also be given a free Adler skin when they play the beta on mobile.

Lastly, any player that manages to reach level 10 in the Black Ops Cold War beta will receive a free weapons blueprint. These are just some of the things players should expect to see in the Open Beta.
