The Marvel Cinematic Universe star Scarlett Johansson maintains her famed image even without the use of social media platforms—that’s how famous she is.
She’s also an all-time favorite character in many chick-flick and rom-com movies like He’s Not Just That Into You and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
With an upcoming and solo MCU movie entitled Black Widow, Johansson is doing pretty well professionally.
The issue began in March 2011, where ScarJo’s private photos were leaked on the internet.
Accordingly, the photos were blurred snaps of her posing in front of the mirror with no clothes on. During those times, Johansson fought and defended herself.
The Avengers actress said that it was more than just invading of privacy, as those alleged photos were for the personal viewing of her then-husband Ryan Reynolds. More photos leaked until September of that year, showing images of the actress being topless.
Apparently, Johannson and 50 other Hollywood celebrities were a victim of cybercrime hacking by a man, who was later on identified and convicted, named Christopher Chaney.
The 35-year-old star had reportedly brought in her lawyers as takedown notices were distributed to sites who published her photos. Websites such as Buzzfeed were told to take them down immediately or face legal consequences.
The FBI was supposedly involved in the mayhem, internally dubbing the incident as “Operation Hackerazzi.”
Admittedly, being one of the main casts of the MCU series, Johansson is one of the most searched actresses in Hollywood today. Despite being that famous, there’s not much social network involvement from her.
Many people would think that after the 2011 fiasco, ScarJo has completely steered away from social networks. Although it might be one of the untold—but obvious—reasons, apparently it’s not the whole story.
Instead, it’s her whole take on social media platforms.
According to Johansson, she finds social networks “a little strange.”
In a 2016 interview, Johansson revealed that she did not grow up using social networking, making it unusual for her to have one. She then clarified that she doesn’t own any accounts on Twitter or on Facebook.
Although there are accounts made by fans claiming that it’s her official account, the MCU actress continues to deny all of it.
Many have dubbed her as a very private person and doesn’t see the need to share snippets of her personal life.
