IO Interactive’s new release Hitman 3, was No.1 in boxed sales in the UK upon its launch last week. The title also beat its predecessor!
According to Games Industry, Hitman 3 debuted in the first position in boxed sales in the UK. Plus, it also beat the sales records of its predecessor by nearly 17 percent! The game is a huge hit when it comes to its PS5 version.
Square Enix handled the title’s boxed release. Interestingly, the studio owned it in the past before giving it to IO Interactive. Warner Bros published the second part in 2018.
Hitman 3: The new installment is already a hit!
The PS5 version of the new title has already accounted for more than 49 percent of its sales. On the other hand, the Xbox version also sold around 27 percent copies. And the PS4 variant witnessed about 25 percent sales.
With Hitman 3 debuting on the UK’s first position, it means a second spot for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales saw a huge jump of 161 percent in terms of overall best-selling top games. It reached the fifth spot, from its previous twelfth position. CoD: Black Ops Cold War also witnessed a boost of 56 percent in its sales for PlayStation versions. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla also saw an impressive increase of 174 percent in its PS5 variants’ sales.
Overall, the sales in games for PS5 increased a lot, about 324 percent, on a week-by-week basis.

Meanwhile, apart from the last year’s big releases, this year is also packed with many anticipated titles. Resident Evil Village‘s recent gameplay demo surprised everyone and created a big buzz for the franchise’s upcoming new addition.
Apart from that, Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel to its 2017 predecessor, is also among the most-awaited launches. But that’s not all! With the likes of God of War: Ragnarok, Halo: Infinite, Dying Light 2, Far Cry 6, The Medium, and Gotham Knights, the line-up looks pretty awesome. Add to this list a few more titles like Deathloop, Returnal, Back 4 Blood, Little Nightmares II, and GhostWire: Tokyo! Then, there’s The Lord of the Rings: Gollum installment, Humankind, Bravely Default 2, Gran Turismo 7, Riders Republic, New World, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
Well, this month seriously belongs to Hitman 3, but coming months will witness even more big reveals, for sure!
