Horizon Zero Dawn is about to make its PC debut on August 7, and its system requirements have just been made public for gamers to prepare.
The days of Horizon Zero Dawn being a PlayStation 4 exclusive are numbered. PC players are advised to gear up as the system requirements are as big as the robotic dinosaurs in the game.
Horizon Zero Dawn PC requirements
On the PlayStation 4, which was originally released in February 2017, Horizon Zero Dawn weighs in at a whopping 48.16 GB heavy. PC players may have already imagined how heavy it’ll be on the computer, just by looking at its gameplay online.
Recently, both Steam and Epic Games Store have finally uncovered the system requirements for the game’s PC equivalent. The PC to be used should first be running on a 64-bit processor and operating system, as Steam reminds.
The minimum requirements are as follows:
- OS: Windows 10 64-bits
- Processor: Intel Core [email protected] or AMD FX [email protected]
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 (3 GB) or AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 100 GB available space
Meanwhile, for its maximum requirement:
- OS: Windows 10 64-bits
- Processor: Intel Core [email protected] or Ryzen 5 [email protected]
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 100 GB available space
Accordingly, per PC Gamer, as to what the respective minimum and maximum requirements entail in terms of performance were not mentioned by either of the video game digital storefronts.
Although, GamesRadar+ guesses that at a minimum, it’ll likely be 1080p at 30 FPS, while the recommended could go as high as 1080p or 1440p at 60+ FPS.
Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC can be played in 32:9 ultrawide ratio and at a 3840×1080 resolution, if your hardware supports it!

Nevertheless, players should expect quite the leap of graphic enhancement from the original PlayStation 4 copy. There’s the option to max the game’s resolution to 4K.
Unfortunately, the PC version won’t have the Raytracing support.
Also, players should note that all the characters, machines, and environments introduced in the PlayStation 4 version will remain the same for the PC version.
Game inclusion
So the Horizon Zero Dawn that will be coming to PC is a complete edition. With that said, it’ll include the following, based on its Steam page listing:
- Horizon Zero Dawn The Frozen Wilds expansion
- Carja Storm Ranger Outfit and Carja Mighty Bow
- Carja Trader Pack
- Banuk Trailblazer Outfit and Banuk Culling Bow
- Banuk Traveller Pack

Both Epic Games Store and Steam are offering now offering Horizon Zero Dawn for pre-purchase.
