Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have, reportedly, been going to family therapy for years.
According to People, Angelina Jolie and Pitt are able to co-parent their children more amicably because therapy has been very helpful. It has also benefited Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox.
Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie’s family therapy is making their children’s lives easier
“They definitely needed help figuring out all the child-custody issues and how Brad could be a dad again. Since the kids are older now, they are no longer dealing with separation issues from Angie,” a source said.
“It’s taken them a long time, with a lot of family therapy, to get to this point. The younger kids go back and forth between their houses, and Brad loves spending as much time with them as possible. He seems much happier,” the source added.
Jolie and Pitt announced their divorce in 2016 after a two-year marriage. Before they tied the knot, the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil star explained why they didn’t rush into marriage.
Angelina Jolie shares her thoughts on marriage
The actress told Vogue in 2007 that marriage wasn’t very important to her and Pitt because they have both been married before.
“We have both been married before, so it’s not marriage that’s necessarily kept some people together. We are legally bound to our children, not to each other, and I think that’s the most important thing,” she said.
However, Jolie acknowledged that her mindset about marriage is different from Pitt’s. But at the end of the day, the actress thinks that they are a funny pair.
“My opinion of marriage comes from a very cynical place. Do you want to kill your spouse? For me, that’s a serious question. And Brad Pitt comes from a place of what a funny idea, to kill the person you’re married to because he has a happy marriage,” Jolie said.
The actress says that separating from Brad Pitt was the right thing to do
Last month, Jolie spoke with Vogue India about her separation.
She said that separating from Pitt was the right thing to do because it was for the wellbeing of her family.
Angelina, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt rumors
The actress also confirmed that she and her children are aware of some of the rumors written about them. Jolie said that she reminded her kids to not focus on the rumors because they know their truth.
Some of these rumors are quite over the top. For instance, a tabloid claimed that Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were adopting a baby girl for Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.
Another rumor claimed that Shiloh asked Angelina Jolie if she could move in with her grandparents. Both claims made by the tabloids are incorrect.
