According to Respawn Entertainment, Apex Legends Season 6 will introduce a crafting mechanic to the battle royale. This isn’t the same as the one found in Fortnite as crafting in Respawn Entertainment’s masterpiece is solely for equipment and gear. Here’s exactly how crafting works in the game.
Although Respawn Entertainment is yet to reveal exactly how crafting works for the battle royale, it does give us a hint of what it means. As per its official post, the developer says, “Don’t like your gear? Collect materials around the map and build something better!”
From this, we can easily surmise that crafting in Apex Legends is all about improving the gear of the legends. The addition of the feature is perfect, considering that Rampart, the upcoming hero, is more about crafting as well. While she may not have direct ties to the feature, there could be some bonuses that give her an advantage over others when it comes to crafting.
Once the new season arrives, there are changes of numerous crafting materials scattered throughout the maps that players will begin to see. These could then be used to create attachments and even level up the gear of players.
It might also mean that the maps are going to get a few changes in Apex Legends Season 6. For starters, players might be given designated locations where they can craft new equipment.
Crafting isn’t a new feature for battle royales. It’s found in Realm Royale. In the game, players will also need to find materials around the map, but they can also dismantle their current equipment to get materials.
When it comes to crafting, they’ll need to find certain forges to create new equipment. While the items are being crafted, they’ll have to defend the forge from incoming attackers. We could be getting a similar feature for Apex Legends.
Apex Legends Season 6 launches well over a week from now. The new season will feature several weapons and attachment tweaks, as well as a new weapon called the Volt SMG. Of course, the season will bring in a new battle pass with numerous cosmetics and bonuses to earn.
