How the military changed Highlight’s Lee Gikwang

Highlight’s Lee Gikwang shares how his military service changed him as an individual.

On November 19, Highlight’s Lee Gikwang held a V Live broadcast and talked with his fans after being officially discharged from his mandatory military service.

The conscripted policeman

Lee Gikwang enlisted himself in the military last April 2019 as a conscripted policeman. In the live broadcast, he stated that he would work as a public figure and as Highlight’s Gikwang. He was thinking about what to do next, work hard at exercising, and wanted to return with a more relaxed image.

Gikwang continued that a lot happened, but he prayed for good things in the future. He wanted to age gracefully with everyone while keeping on working hard and enjoying life.

Busy lines ahead

Lee Gikwang also shared some stories from his military service. As a conscripted policeman, they had to go to Seoul to support the police if there is a demonstration. By coincidence, the military sent him to areas the same as Dongwoon.

He could not meet him directly because they were so busy, but they saw each other’s buses passed by.
