The HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 is a toned-down version of the MatePad Pro, which was announced in November 2019 in the Chinese market.
The HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 is finally official. HUAWEI’s newest slate in the MatePad series serves as the toned-down variant of the MatePad Pro, which debuted last November in the company’s home market.
A 10.4-inch of an immersive tablet experience
The HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 or the HUAWEI MatePad features a 10.4-inch IPS LCD display, with a resolution of 1,200 x 2,000 pixels. The tablet also sports an aluminum frame and back panel.
HUAWEI’s latest slate also boasts four massive Harman Kardon-tuned speakers and four microphones. However, the tablet doesn’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Under the hood, the HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 gets powered by HUAWEI’s HiSilicon Kirin 810 that is based on 7nm architecture. The company also couples it with three configurations, relative to its RAM and ROM. These include 4GB/64GB Wi-Fi, 6GB/128GB Wi-Fi, and 6GB/128GB LTE.
An educational tool
The HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 is also being marketed as an educational tool. Consequently, HUAWEI equips the tablet with an educational center, which features a slew of learning resources and “focus UI.”
HUAWEI also arms the MatePad 10.4 with measures which should ensure its younger users to focus on their schoolwork. Moreover, these measures should navigate users away from sliding into their often addictive behavior.
As the HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 is being geared for young readers, the tablet comes with a special reading mode. The feature doesn’t only control blue lighting that emanates from the tablet but also simulates an e-paper-like experience. These are all on top of its ability to monitor the user’s eye distance and posture.
A versatile tablet
As a new part of the EMUI 10.1, the HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 also offers multi-window support and integration with other compatible devices. Another highlight of the HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 is the inclusion of its support for HUAWEI’s M-Pencil stylus.
Note that the HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 doesn’t ship with Google Services, so you’ll have to rely on the HUAWEI Mobile Services instead.
Other key features, pricing, and availability
The HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 also sports two 8MP sensors, right on its front and back panels. It also works on a sizeable 7,250mAh battery, with 18W fast charging.
The HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 has three configurations in which its pricing is based from. For instance, its 4GB/64GB Wi-Fi trim is priced at CNY 1,899, while its 6GB/128GB Wi-Fi carries a price tag of 2,199. Its top-tier 6GB/128GB LTE variant, on the other hand, retails for CNY 2,499
