HUAWEI has retained its lead in its home market in the tablet segment during the third and fourth quarter of 2019.
HUAWEI has remained at the top of the Chinese tablet market..
Nothing is what it seems for HUAWEI
HUAWEI’s Consumer Business Product Line President He Gand has revealed that the Chinese tech giant is still the leading tablet brand in its home market. Accordingly, HUAWEI has placed itself at the top spot again due to its substantial numbers in the country during the third and fourth quarter of 2019. The company has generated a higher output in 2020, accounting for nearly half of the Chinese tablet market share.
The recent sales produced by HUAWEI seemed to have aligned with what the firm’s CEO and founder Ren Zhengfei revealed previously. He said that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has made production and shipments challenging. However, the company has seen an uptick in terms of demand for tablets, computers, and smartphones.
A mixed bag output
In its financial report for Q1 2020, HUAWEI sold more than 450,000 smartphone units in the Chinese market in March 2020. Nevertheless, Zhengfei admitted that while the domestic market appeared to be promising, the same couldn’t be said with the international market which faces an expected decline.
Alongside the pandemic, the underwhelming numbers of HUAWEI are due to the effective ban by the United States on the company. As it is, this bars the firm from using Google’s apps and services on its devices. Currently, the company is banking on its HUAWEI Mobile Services (HMS) instead.
