Alongside the HUAWEI Y6p and Y5p, HUAWEI has also unveiled the MatePad T8 tablet.
Hours after their detailed leaks were released to the wild, the HUAWEI Y6p and Y5p have now gone official. Unveiled in Romania, HUAWEI’s newest phones are their latest offerings in the budget-friendly segment. The phones were also announced along with the company’s MatePad T8 tablet.
HUAWEI Y6p
The HUAWEI Y6p features a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display, with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels. The phone also employs a dewdrop notch, which is placed at the top center of the screen.
The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P22 chipset, with PowerVR for its GPU needs. The device is then coupled with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
On its rear, the HUAWEI Y6p sports a triple-camera system, which consists of 13MP wide, 5MP ultra-wide, and 2MP depth sensors. Inside the phone’s notch is an 8MP front-facing snapper.
The HUAWEI Y6p also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, a massive 5,000mAh battery, and Bluetooth 5.0.
Retailing in black, green, and purple color variants, the HUAWEI Y6p is priced at RON 799.
HUAWEI Y5p
Despite the HUAWEI Y5p still toting around dated bezels at the top and bottom portions of its front panel, the phone features a back panel that sports a more modern rear camera module.
The HUAWEI Y5p features a 5.45-inch TFT LCD display and an 18:9 aspect ratio. On its rear, the phone houses a single 8MP camera with an LED flash. The front bezel of the phone houses a 5MP selfie camera.
In the hardware department, the phone is fueled by the same Helio P22 SoC, but is paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. The latter is expandable via a microSD card.
The only glaring difference between the two can be found in their battery offerings. The HUAWEI Y5p has a scaled-down 3,020mAh battery, and like the Y6p, the phone also charges via a dated Micro USB port.
The HUAWEI Y5p also sports a single 8MP wide camera on its rear, Bluetooth 5.0, a dedicated FM radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The HUAWEI Y5p retails for RON 599. It comes in black, blue, and mint colors.
HUAWEI MatePad T8
Alongside the HUAWEI Y6p and Y5p, HUAWEI also launched a budget device in its tablet portfolio. Dubbed as the MatePad T8, the newest tablet features an 8-inch LCD panel, with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels.
Around the back of HUAWEI MatePad T8 employs a 5MP camera, while its front boasts a 2MP selfie snapper.
The HUAWEI MatePad T8 banks on the power of MTK8768 chipset. It is also then coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB internal storage options. Its battery is rated 5,100mAh.
The HUAWEI MatePad T8 carries a price tag of RON 500. It only comes in a blue color variant. The tablet is set to become available this month
