Following Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity’s demo availability on the eShop, dataminers quickly deciphered the playable version’s contents, revealing what appears to be a list of playable characters in the game.
The demo for Nintendo’s latest entry in the Legend of Zelda series was announced yesterday via the Nintendo Direct Mini. A showcase that subsequently compels Switch owners to flock into the shop and get their hands on the demo. An early access to the game prior to the game’s full launch next month.
Part of the crowd were tinkerers who had a way of digging deep into contents that the average person couldn’t. True enough, the result of the endeavor is a peep to contents that seemingly disclose one of the game’s hidden surprises. In particular, a list of playable characters that gamers will get to experience with the game’s complete launch.
Names worthy of knowing
Readers, be warned, the following list contains names in the franchises that may spoil.
- Link
- Impa
- Zelda
- Urbosa
- Mipha
- Revali
- Daruk
- King Rhoam
- Hestu
- Riju
- Sidon
- Teba
- Yunobo
- Great Fairy
- Master Kohga
- A Monk
- Mini Guardian
- Ganon
As can be seen in the list, the overall number of playable figures in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is pretty lengthy. But more surprising than the name count is some of the personas that many would not have thought could be part of the inclusion. One, in particular, is the game’s biggest baddie himself, that is, Ganon. But “A Monk” and Mini Guardian also makes for some interesting additions.
Of course, mainstays such as Link and Zelda are unsurprisingly enthralling, too, as playable characters. Especially after seeing the two heroes’ abilities in the field against a horde of goblins.
Not certain
The dataminers, as it appears, are fairly certain that the aforementioned list points to figures that players could control in-game. This is given by the players’ icons that are attributed to each. While by no means definitive, there is at least that implication in the finding.
Now, to be fair, the musou genre, which Koei Tecmo popularized with the Dynasty Warriors series, is not a stranger to a long list of controllable characters. Throughout gaming’s history, there had been multiple entries in the genre which features a similar or greater feat. Much to say that such a highlight is possibly a hallmark of the genre itself.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will officially roll out on the Switch on Nov. 20, 2020.
