Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity is one of the most anticipated titles launching next month. More and more, Nintendo is teasing us what to expect from the upcoming spin-off of The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.
The upcoming game is more than just about Link and Zelda, as past games have been. In Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, the fan-favorite hero and heroine are sharing the spotlight with a few others. Just recently, the developers showed us what to expect from the other characters in the game.
The Champions of Hyrule
Nintendo gave us a glimpse of the skills of Zelda, and the Four Champions in the upcoming title. Of course, we saw what Link can do. In the trailer, Link is the same skilled swordsman that he is. He is also seen wearing various armors that players of Breath of the Wild had already seen.
Next up, we got to see what Zelda can do with the Shiekah slate. With it, she’s able to summon what seems to be a version of a Guardian. This will walk in a straight line and drop bombs along the way.
Revali and Mypha showed off how they will use the Shiekah slate as well. Revali can use it to freeze enemies in time and use static momentum to launch them away. It’s one of the skills in Breath of the Wild, now translated to Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity.
Mypha uses the Shikah to create blocks of ice with water. We also got a glimpse of Impa using the Shiekah slate to summon a huge scythe-like weapon.
Koroks make a return
At the beginning of the trailer, we also get to see that Korok seeds are back in the game. These seeds will be scattered all throughout the map. In Breath of the Wild, there were 900 seeds around Hyrule. It will be fun trying to find each on in the stages.
As players find more seeds, they’ll be rewarded with special items as well. Hopefully, the rewards are better than in Breath of the Wild.
Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 20. The game tells the story of the Great Calamity – the events that took place 100 years before The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Fans are certainly going to want to enjoy this upcoming game.
